Badenweiler spa and castle gardens
Badenweiler's 22-hectare spa park is one of the most tree-rich spa parks in Germany. It was laid out more than 250 years ago on the model of English parks. The Roman bath ruins, Baden Castle and the Wandelhalle are also located in the middle of the park. So you are not only strolling through nature here, but also through Badenweiler's history.

Botanical Gem
Badenweiler's Spa Garden thrives of its visual links. No matter where you are, your eyes will be attracted by the next botanical beauty. And there are plenty of those! For example venerable mammoth trees, affectionately created flower beds, plant islands, trees and rare shrubs. A stroll takes you from the swan lake to the Roman Bath ruins to the Kurhaus.
Hildegard of Bingen Garden, Chasselas Garden, Vosges View
An approx. 1 km long loop trail called 'Kaffeemühle' starts immediately in front of the ‘Kurhaus’. A small Hildegard of Bingen Garden lines the way on the right. Just a bit further a short path on the left leads to the Badenweiler Chasselas Garden. The detour to the vines-botanical show garden is really worthwhile. There are about 68 sorts of Chasselas, some of them being something of a rarity.
The stroll takes you past the Chekhov Monument to the Vosges View. From this viewpoint you have a great view of the Rhine valley as far as the Vosges. Tip: the view is even better from castle Baden. The short climb is really worth the effort.
The Castle Garden
If you turn right at the Grand Ducal Palace, you will get to the Castle Garden. Here you will also find the large bed of cacti with treasures from the Spa Garden nursery.
Tip: Guided tours of the Spa Garden
Guided tours of the Spa Garden regularly take place during peak season. These tours are free for holders of the Badenweiler Guestcard.
