Description
The Belvedere is one of Badenweiler's most important buildings. On the initiative of the district director von Kulm, the Belvedere was built from 1811 to 1813 as a "Lusthaus" (pleasure house) in Weinbrenner's classicist style and was much appreciated during the lifetime of Grand Duchess Stephanie of Baden. Around 1900, the building served the Anglican Church, and between 1930 and 1933 it was the studio of the painter Emil Bizer.
