Chasselas Garden
An approx. 1 km long loop trail called 'Kaffeemühle' starts immediately in front of the ‘Kurhaus’. A small Hildegard of Bingen Garden lines the way on the right. Just a bit further a short path on the left leads to the Badenweiler Chasselas Garden. The detour to the vines-botanical show garden is really worthwhile. There are about 68 sorts of Chasselas, some of them being something of a rarity.

Description
Under the scientific supervision of the State Viticultural Institute of Freiburg, a botanical vine show garden was created and the grounds were made accessible by a new panoramic path and stairway. At the same time, the former vineyard cottage was renovated and the vantage point named Bizers Malwinkel in memory of the painter of the "heavenly landscape".
Covering an area of around 20 ares, the Gutedelgarten contains a very large variety of Gutedel variations and mutations, which can be explained by the variety's great age of over 5,000 years and its widespread use. The planting provides an interesting overview of the Gutedel population by presenting the various varieties of the Gutedel grape variety, also from neighbouring wine countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Transylvania, France and Italy. The planting is supplemented by numerous new varieties under the aspect of current fungus-resistant table grape varieties.
Display boards provide information for those interested in viticulture. Lizards sun themselves in the niches of the retaining walls, and countless crickets fill the air with their chirping in the hot summer evenings. A walkway of grape arbours and easily accessible paths terraced across the slope invite visitors to view the table grapes, especially in autumn.
Adjacent to the chasselas garden is a lush flower meadow, which is followed by a new planting of fruit trees of old, tried and tested varieties that have fallen into oblivion in modern times.
